Quilter's Academy - Vol 1 - Freshman Year

In December 2009 I started Harriet & Carrie's Quilter's Academy.  I learned to cut & piece strips ......

Project 9 - Carrie's Interlacing Circles

Project 10 - Harriet's Double Nine-Patch Chain

Project 11 - Carrie's Inlaid Tile Table Runner (unquilted)

Project 12 - Carrie's Double Irish Chain Baby Quilt

Project 13 - Harriet's Irish Chain Variation

Project 14 - The Final

By July 2010, I'd learned the basics of quiltmaking.  Thank you Harriet.  Thank you Carrie.

    We have bumper stickers here that claim "I'm the proud parent of an honor student at .....school". Well, I couldn't be more proud of you for your perseverence and accomplishments. I am honored to be a part of your amazing growth and progress. I can't wait to see what you do with Volume 2, as we start to introduce the idea of designing your own original quilts. You are ready!! Look for a surprise in the mail my dear - you are the best!!!!

  9. Thank you everyone for your support. It's fantastic and really, really helps. Dramas and all, it was great fun, so much so, that I'm looking forward to doing it all over again with Vol 2.

  10. Your blog continues to inspire! I have read every blog entry carefully through and made notes in my Freshman Academy book. This series of pictures of finished pieces is really an amazing progression. You should be proud of yourself!
