I finished piecing the blocks for the Asian Nights quilt top and layed them out (with baited breath, hoping I got it right in the end). Thank you to those who offered advice on getting the colour placement right. It was good advice..........check it out!
I must say I quite like it.
I haven't sewed the rows together yet (obviously) as I think I will make the extra 32 blocks required for the large version.
When I'm going to make the extra 32 blocks for the large version is another question. I am pondering whether to start on them straight away, now - or to continue on to the next project and finish this one off after I've done with this book.
But then again, I keep looking at the Jinny Beyer kits just sitting there......I'm in a rush to get stuck into one of those.
I'll sleep on it.
Cheers all and Happy New Year
Looks great. I can hear the Jinny Beyer kits calling to you and look forward to following your progress with them.
ReplyDeleteThat Looks lovely, nearly tempted to try it myself, but have too many others to finish first.
ReplyDeleteAhhh Margarita - this is the small size which you can run up in a couple of days. Well, for an experienced quilter, probably in an afternoon!
ReplyDeleteSuzie the Jinny kits are soooo tempting, but I want to get my skills up first. I'd hate to mess them up. The quicker I get through this tutorial, the closer those kits are to being made.
ReplyDeleteOooh that looks lovely !
ReplyDeleteHi Clare - thanks for the comment, glad you like it!
ReplyDeleteI am busy cutting more strips for the next 32 blocks - yep decided to make it full size. This may take a while
That looks lovely. You are motoring along so well. I am plodding with my strip pieced quilt, it has been just too hot to sew, (or do anything else for that matter). I love reading about your progress and seeing the pics of what you have done.
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether you know this... Hancocks in the USA sometimes offer free postage (domestic/overseas).On google, search for Hanocks Paducah. Right at the top where it says "HOP Mail sign up", follow directions to receive their weekly emails. I heard about this gem on the Aust. thread of PR. Cat1
ReplyDeleteFantastic job, Floyd & Annie will be pleased when you finally finish them!!!
ReplyDeleteAnon - thanks for the tip. I've subscribed, now waiting for the offer to happen!
ReplyDeleteKaz - this one will not be a cat mat! (who am I kidding)?
